Description

The Chevrolet Camaro is an automobile manufactured by General Motors under the Chevrolet brand, classified as a pony car and some versions also as a muscle car. It went on sale on September 29, 1966, for the 1967 model year and was designed as a competing model to the Ford Mustang. The car shared its platform and major components with the Pontiac Firebird, also introduced for 1967.

Four distinct generations of the Camaro were developed before production ended in 2002. The nameplate was revived again on a concept car that evolved into the fifth-generation Camaro; production started on March 16, 2009.

It's a bit confusing, but I think this is an RS/SS camaro. Now I know they had RS (Rally Sport) camaros and SS camaros as well as just plain old camaros. The point being when you see the hideaway headlights, those were needed for offroad rally racing which required the absence of headlights. Simply putting electrical tape in a X style over the headlights wasn't enough (which, at the time, was acceptable for some forms of racetrack racing of production cars). I know that Year One sold these replacement headlight covers as "RS headlight assembly," so...
(I've never known what defines an SS (Super Sport) I used to think it was a larger, heavy duty engine, but they have had 6 cylinder SS's, so...)

Easier to distinguish is the '72 Camaros which had the split bumper as the RS and had faux lights above the bumperettes. Opposed to the split bumper is the full bumper which had fog lights below the "bumperette area."

Your work is phenomenal, as usual, and thought it better to say something different and interesting instead of lauding you with obvious praise.
Say, what was the updates on this?
